My Profile

My name is Salmeen Ayedh and I'm twenty years old. My father worked in ADNOC before he retired. I have six brothers and I'm the last one of them. First I will describe my childhood I was love the fight with other children because I'm lived in Bni Yas and this was happened every day. I remember my father when he was banished me because many parents were came to him and said your child hated our children every day. I remember also the first time I interred to the school and that was bad feel because it was new thing in my life.

Life as a teenager, for me this period can make you a good person or bad person depend on what you will learn from it. I think this period began from sixteen. In this period you will learn many new thing about your life some of them good and other not however about myself I learned how I can be polite the people around me and behavior. Also I improve my general skills which maybe help me in my life. Now I try to avoid the girls in this period because I think the maybe confuse me on my study.

For me I must relax after any work so I use my summer vacation to relax and have a good time to refresh my mind. Last summer I went to Indonesia the best place in the world because you will find in it what you want. Indonesia is wonderful place because it has many natural places and also it is very cheap so you will save your money. I really enjoyed in that summer and I hope go to it again.

I will talk now about mo hobbies as everyone in class knows I love foot ball and specially Real Madrid. I didn’t miss any match of them. For me Real Madrid is the best club in the world and I hate Barcelona. Also I love watch movies and the best movie I had seen was Gladiator. It talks about man spent all his time in the fight and I advise you to see this movie.

I hope in the future after I pass the college be an Electrical Engineer because my country needs this course of Engineering and also to get a good salary to be my life more flexible. But to do all those things I must work very hard and develop myself and my skills to be able.

End Of Semester (Reflective Statement)

For me I'm so satisfied with what I learned in this semester. I improved in many things such as listening, writing and also reading. Before this semester I was suffer in listening and I was got in any listening test between 50 and 60 but now I feel that I can get more than 70 and also same thing in reading and writing. Now I know the skills of listening for example I know that I must read the question first and concentrate when the speaker beginning. I think the good thing in this semester was the listening because I improved in it so much. On the other hand I think that bad thing in this semester was the speaking Arabic in the class more than English and this effect in our level. For my class I asked my friends maybe every week about the course (English 175, English 174) and every one said to me that he happy with this semester. For you miss I think you did the best to improve our level and I will be frank with you miss, I studied in the petroleum institute for two years with English teachers and nobody improve my level as you. Finally I think there are many advantages in this semester and the important thing that is learn what you can to support you in level 3.

From 1997 until 1998 the number of Belgium visitors increased sharply and constant for one year until 1999. The numbers of Italian visitors increased gradually from 1997 until 2000. From 2000 to 2001 the numbers of Italian visitors hit the top after that it decreased gradually until 2005 and then increased again until 2006. From 1999 to 2000 the numbers of Belgium visitors hit the bottom and directly after that it reached the peak between 2000 and 2001. From 2001 to 2005 the numbers of Italian visitors decreased gradually and after that increased again until 2006.

In conclusion, in 2001 both countries reached the top and also the difference was not very big between them. Also in the last year which between 2005 and 2006 the visitors for both countries increased.

Famous Person

My name is Pele and I was born in Tres Coracoes Brazil. I'm 57 years old and I have only one son. I believe that I should not through from the balloon because I did many specials things. First I'm scored more that one thousand goals and nobody did this accept me. Also I improved this game and make it the best game in the world. Most of people now love football because of my skills and my goals when I was playing. On the other hand I did some thing very special which nobody can disagree, I reduced the criminals and deal with drugs in Brazil and also in many places by make these boys who don’t have work play football and use their skills in some thing good. I think that I did specials things more than other also the others did normal things so I should not through and stay in the balloon.

Masdar City & My opinions

What is Masdar City?

Abu Dhabi government going to build a city called "Masdar City" which can help to reduce the carbon dioxide and in the same time save the energy. Abu Dhabi government try to make this city depend on natural sources only such as solar energy, wind etc with out the use of fossil fuels. This city will be with out any cars or factories or any thing can pollute the air or the earth.

What are your opinions about it?

I think that the succeed of this project is very difficult because they build it for a few people (thousand of people) but in the world there are more than billions of people. Also I think it's very difficult to live without cars in these days because in every day you need it to for your transportations. Last thing these styles of cities cost a lot of money so it's very difficult to build many of it.

(Key Words & Bits Words)

Key Words

Carbon-neutral
Air-conditioners
Cooling
Frosty
Environmentally friendly
Efficiency
Ambitous
Cool
Hyper-efficient
Carbon dioxide

Bits words

Have to walk or take public transport to get around.

Buildings here are often spaced too far apart.

World can live without using too much energy or materials.

The resources are extremely cheap.

Public transport and waste recycling programmers are virtually.

The city of 50000 will cut its energy usage by 50-70 per cent.

Surrounded by acres of photovoltaic solar panels and wind turbine.

Which will help power the city’s air conditioning systems.

Alternative energy projects elsewhere make up for carbon dioxide emissions.

Cities like Masdar will become the norm, not the exception.

Cool Cities

Green Vehicle Solutions

There are three solutions to reduce carbon dioxide. First the government builds cities, counties and states to reduce carbon dioxide. Second solution is that some cities are providing incentives for hybrid vehicles and lower registrations fees and taxes. Last solution is that many cities now are replacing these polluting old buses with buses that run on cleaner compressed natural gas (CNG) or with hybrid-electric diesel engines.

Energy Efficiency Solutions

Energy efficiency means using less energy through better technology to get more power. There are many solutions to do that. First solution is that making new building which depends on energy efficiency. Also we can use can use new system of lighting which depend on solar energy to reduce the pollution and save the energy. The cities which use energy efficiency can get a benefit from that system. Cities also can get a benefit from energy efficiency by combined heat and power.

Renewable Energy Solutions

Cities can use energy from the renewable sources instead of electricity to reduce the pollution and to save the energy. We can use solar and wind energy to get a power instead of electricity. Also the city can make a contract with the government like many other cities in the world.
